BRAND NEW USER to Graphene OS and this is happening for me too! I have set up a separate profile from the Owner profile and want all text messages to come directly to that profile. I really don't want them to go to the Owner profile if possible but this doesn't seem to be working. I have selected to receive Text and Phone calls under the non-owner profile that I "live in" consistently.
If I use the default messaging app, all text messages show up in the Owner profile, and in the non-owner profile almost instantaneously as expected.
However, I want to use messaging apps with more advanced features. I installed Fossify Messages in the non-Owner profile. All the old texts loaded in Fossify, but no new texts would flow through (meaning they appear in the owner profile default sms app, but not the non-owner profile Fossify app). I then uninstalled it and tried Quik SMS in the non-owner profile. Same issue. After digging, I found a Quik setting under Hamburger->Settings->Sync Messages if I manually tap that, it "refreshes" and brings in any new text messages from the Owner profile so I am up to date. Yay! The annoyance is that I have to manually do this step every time I look at my phone, in order to get notified of, or see any new text messages.
Q1. Is there any way to turn off sms to the Owner profile? I turned off notifications of sms in the Owner profile, as I don't care to know about them, but I still see all my unread texts if I open the default sms app in the Owner profile.
Q2. Is there any app I can use in a Non-Owner profile that will receive text messages as soon as the phone receives them? Texts can be kind of urgent (MFA for example when signing into a bank site) and I don't want to manually refresh my app each time to "check" if I have any new text messages... I wish Quik SMS would auto sync periodically through the day.
