Using RCS with Google Messages on GrapheneOS

G Messages was still working here with Verizon but I decided to go back to Fossify Messages anyway.

So weird. I guess some of the Canadian providers now require ICC auth for RCS to work.

Tested with Freedom & Koodo.

Was working flawlessly for a while, last week or so RCS stopped working and I just got it working by enabling ICC permission. Hopefully this isn't too intrusive of a permission to enable.

yonecessito I'm having a strange issue where RCS works but only when the app is open. If someone send me a message through RCS I won't receive it until I open the messaging app.

This may indicate that Google Messages or some part of Play needs to have unrestricted battery access and/or the ability to run in the background.

RCS broke last night. After some fiddling I got it fixed. It deleted all my previous messages though. Is there any way to recover?
