Web install failing on Pixel 6a "Error: You need to download a release first!"

The first time I used web install to get Graphene it worked perfectly. This time I can't get past that error message.

I've re-downloaded at least ten times.
In between, I've closed and reopened the chromium browser.
I've tried signing in to the Goog (which I normally never do).
I've turned my vpn off, just in case that was the problem.
I've used the cable that came with my other Pixel 6a, which has always worked.
No matter what I try, same error message: Error: You need to download a release first!
I've downloaded the current zip file from GrapheneOS's web site. If there was some way to tell the installer "here it is!" that would deal with the problem I assume, but I can't see how to do that.
Anybody have any ideas on what I can try?

quixote9 I did a search for the error message in the community chat rooms, and found that someone got around the error simply by using another browser. Could you please try one of the other supported browsers for the web install? Such as Microsoft Edge or Brave (with Brave Shields disabled).
Make sure to close the Chromium browser you are having issues with before proceeding with the web install in the new browser.

I saw that about using other browsers but I guess subconsciously I didn't want to believe it because I thought, "Nah. That's not the problem. Using a perfectly adequate Chromium here."

Well, apparently it was the problem. Tried an old install of Brave that was still on my system, and sure enough, it got past the glitch and installed from there on.
