DeletedUser29 True. Any app has an access to shared storage (if you don't use storage scopes). I, for instance, move and keep all my Media after creation in a file structure where the root folder is a hidden folder without having to resort to using storage scopes. That way they don't show in the gallery, yet they are still accessible through file manager and tapping them opens up a viewer that is associated with the file type even if under normal circumstances that particular app (say Fossify Gallery) doesn't show it. Different things work for different people. Perhaps this is another take on what the OP was asking.
