Phone Unusable During Updates

I have a lot of Apps downloaded. When I am updating App versions in F-Droid or Neo or downloading Graphene OS updates, I can't seem to download anything else. I really wish I could limit the amount of bandwidth these thing used so the update process could be done in the background (over 8 hours) instead of wrecking my ability to use anything that needs the Internet for 4 hours.

morgan Interesting! If you're willing to say, I'm curious as to how many apps this is.

While it would be possible to bandwidth-cap apps, I suspect it would take a non-trivial amount of code. So I wonder if, as a workaround, kicking off an app-update cycle before going to sleep might suffice?

morgan When I am updating App versions in F-Droid

I use F-droid Basic. The client can do unattended updates and I have it set to 'WiFi only'.

i also someimes can still load things in a web browser when doing updates like this but it's very slow and hard
