GrapheneOS AI?

Will GrapheneOS ever include an Artificial Intelligence? It would be awesome if GrapheneOS team actually builds an AI that protects the device in real-time and executes multiple and complex tasks through both touch and voice input locally, without the need of connecting to the internet and servers. I believe that only a highly private, secure, local, and customizable AI will fit the needs of people who uses GrapheneOS. And maybe the team can distribute the AI by using 'Apps' app, rather than pre-installing it in every user's phone.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that's a lot of work and a pipe dream. The developers already have their plates full with current projects.

Secondly, what exactly is it you are imagining an "AI" doing on the phone?

[deleted] there's no "AI" in the OS, but apps can use APIs to use hardware to help them do some "AI" stuff. For example, a camera app doing some retouching after a picture is taken.

As for what you're envisioning, I'm not sure AI is there yet. Right now it's just good at certain tasks, like spitting out lots of junk that sounds credible.

OpenAI has stolen our work without respecting the licenses along with the work of many others. They expect copyright to apply to their own output but don't respect it for others. Their tools are plausible nonsense generators optimized for convincing people that it's accurate rather than it being at all accurate. The tools have no actual understanding of the material or reasoning ability. It's certainly good at influencing people and optimizing the spreading of misinformation, which will have a huge impact on everyone, but we're not going to welcome it here.

Im happy to use AI externally. Not being integrated with the OS. I'm happy if AI can help in development, but it would make me push away from GOS if there was AI directly on the phone
