Looking for a solution to watch films/series on my media player with USB

Basically I wanted to connect my DAS to my PC and my media player (kind of Nvidia Shield, not Android or iOS, the custom Kodi interface under GNU/Linux via a USB switch but some research I did on the internet , apparently a USB Switch can corrupt hard drive data in full use or being transferred due to constant reconnection by disconnection so I don't take the risk of using a USB Switch. So I don't see any other. solution that I can use which hard drive for my media player I do not want to unplug a cable from my DAS on my PC or my media player each time I am looking for a hard drive that can be used on my media player for everyday use, not to make the data archive. I'm not interested in a media player server like Plex, Jellyfin or Emby. Only offline 100%

I think your making your life more difficult for no real benefit.
I use my NAS and media player "offline". As in, they are not reachable from the internet and do no require any online accounts. I could unplug my internet and everything still works.

How did you do ? Because I have no knowledge on this subject, can you tell me how to do it? Does that mean you don't need to use a media player server like Plex, Jellyfin or Emby? I'm using Fedora 39 + KDE

I use Emby. But if you against using this, then you could mount a network drive on your mediaplayer.
