Music player apps don't play on Android Auto

How get it work?
I reinstalled the app from google play store. However, it only plays for half a second in Android Auto and then stops.
It has nearly all permissions, I cleared Cache and storage. It doesn't work as before.
Any suggestions?

Meanwhile I installed 2 other players. Both don't play either.
I also re-installed Android Auto from GrapheneOS store.

I urgently need some help to fix it. I tried it in new profile where I got the same issue.
No player works on Android Auto.

On stock Android, if you want an app to play within Android Auto then will have to install it from the Google Play Store. I guess the same may count for Android Auto in GOS (?).

Have you tried VLC (via Play Story)?

Stephan-P I have now installed all the apps from the G play store. But doing the same with Android Auto contradicts the GOS direction of shoving these things all into the sandbox. If GOS has Android Auto in the sandbox, it should work across the board. OK, voice input doesn't work in GOS either, but that's probably not linked to the music player, is it?
Anyway, I tried to get Android Auto from play store. I could deinstall it from there, but not install. It seems that it is only possible to install it from GOS store. That would make sence, right?
After clicking on "update" in play store, music player began to play more than a second - about 6 sec - , but then decided to quit.
It is still completely unclear what causes it or what I failed to set / unset.
It could even be a bug that came with last system update. However, then I would not be the only one having this issue.

Today I installed the "AutoZen" app in my Xtrons car radio (Android) as an alternative to Android Auto.
I noticed that music from the Pixel 6a via Bluetooth also stops immediately!
This means that it is not an Android Auto problem, but at least has to do with Bluetooth. Bluetooth has all permissions in my phone.
Where else could the error lie? Does anyone have any clues?

de0u Why do you want to know that? I retrofitted the Xtrons device last year. It is compatible with Android Auto, for example. It even worked with GrapheneOS in the beginning. And with my normal smartphone Redmi Note 11s anyway.

Hooray - solved!
When I realized that it was a Bluetooth problem, I found some articles about it on the net.
The solution: Unpair all paired devices and then pair them again. That solved it.
Probably the last system update was actually the cause of the error. Learned something new again.

There is still one problem: I have to remove and reconnect the Bluetooth connection before every connection (from Android Auto).
Even that doesn't always help, I usually have to remove and reconnect the connection in the car unit as well, which is very annoying.
At least - when I go on a longer trip, I can do that at the beginning and then it works.
But it's still a downer.
