Starred contact's messages aren't getting through Do Not Disturb

Greetings,

Do Not Disturb on my phone is set up so that starred contacts can reach me, either by calling or messaging.

When I get a Signal message, I get notified with sound, but when I get a regular SMS there's no notification. Only when I open the standard GOS messaging app do I realize I missed a message.

Battery saver is off and sound volumes are normal – nothing's muted.

I've had a similar problem, however in my case, regular calls/sms do come through and Molly calls/messages do not.

distro Do you happen to be using a user profile other than Owner? If so I discovered DND exceptions do not work properly in secondary profiles for calls or sms, but it's an AOSP issue not GrapheneOS. If you're using Owner profile than I'm not sure.

distro this is how I set up contacts to get through my DnD. Important people are starred and notifications never fail to get through.

I think the issue may be that the contact in Signal isn't connected to the phone contact. You may need to add their country code, or make sure the phone number is formatted a certain way.

treenutz68 Hello teenutz68, I use SimpleX and gave notification permissions to SimpleX. Now calls and SMS from SimpleX come through even on DND.

Try giving Molly notification permissions. However, be aware ALL your Molly contacts will ring through DND. You can't isolate them.

treenutz68 Teennutz68, I made a mistake in my reply to you...add Molly to DND permissions. But you will not be able to isolate who gets blocked and who does not. I can't block specific SimpleX contacts.

Signal works fine, it's SMS the problem.

distro Yeah that's part of the reason I can't use a user profile for my main profile. I need to have call/sms exceptions working for Do Not Disturb.

distro hello distro, This might be a long shot, but do the contacts and SMS, in your user profile, have permissions for notifications?
