Recommended launchers

What launchers are recommended, if any? There's quite a few out there. Wondering if there's any that have caught on recently and cater well to the minimalist user.

Maybe not the answer you want, but in a lot of discussions on this forum it is the people using other launchers than the default that has a lot of problems. Especially Lawnchair seems to be mentioned a lot of times. I would recommend to just keep the standard launcher. Or, if you encounter any issues when you have a 3rd party launcher, switch back to default and see if the problem is still present. And when you post a problem here on the forum, always mention that you are using a 3rd party launcher.

I'm just tired of many long threads that in the end is a result of problems from 3rd party launchers 😅

I second OLauncher (clutter free), it's what I use and love for its simplicity. But Panda-na is right, the best solution security-wise is to stick to the default as it's tried and tested and won't increase your attack surface.

Lawnchair 14 beta works fine for me (pixel 8, multiple profiles). It's the stock launcher that deletes all my widgets after each time I close the user profile.

Michiel I use Lawnchair too but it has some problems with some widgets unfortunately.

I am using Niagara launcher, it's simple, I like it, and it's also respectful of privacy.

I am now using Total Launcher. Its just completely customisable. Have to get it from Aurora or PS though. Its never been connected to the internet and doesn't need GPS to work properly. Its very cool but its a steep learning curve and not what most people are likely looking for.

Before this is used Niagra which I love but it complains unless you pay for it and always needs to phone home to make sure you have paid. So no.

Kiss Launcher is amazing. Privacy aware and just lovely to use. I really like it, but on a second profile you can't seem to save, see or use PWA's. I mitigated it by launching GOS launcher with a side swipe and that contained them on a home screen.

I tried Lawnchair too but I skipped over it as if was out of date and confusing what was happening. Its now sorted itself out and back to being developed properly and consistently. Its to late for me though I love TL. Lawnchair also has a good desktop experience if you wanted that.
