Messaging and Contacts Dark Theme

First I would like to say thanks for such a great ROM, works flawlessly. I've been using custom ROMs for a long time and GrapheneOS is hands down the best so far.

Is there a timeline on integrating dark theme for the default messaging app and contacts? I have been a Signal user forever and since they are dropping support for SMS I would like to start using the default messaging app for SMS but a dark theme option is a must.

There is the same sms app in LOS with dark theme support, maybe patches for dark theme could be backported from LOS?

IIRC I saw a thread in the past asking this same question and someone said it is on the road map to have dark theme, but no exact time on when. I'm in the same boat as you though so when Signal does drop SMS the only good options at this point are Simple SMS and QKSMS.

Thank you, thank you for implementing the dark theme for Messages, looks much better. Great to see Dev's listening to requests.
