USB connect (not able to transfer data) to PC

I'm making photos at work with my pixel and need to transfer those my laptop.
Everything worked fine. Connect it to my laptop, toggle button to data transfer and it worked.

Till a couple days ago. If I toggle the button use usb for data transfer it greys out and can't change the button anymore.
I tried many things different cables(good ones), reinstalled my OS on my laptop.

I think it is not working anymore due to a automatic update, which maybe changed a deeper setting on my phone?

Any help would be appreciated:)

Settings -> Security -> USB-C Port: Is this set to "off" or "charging only", by any chance? If so, switch this setting to "on" or the default: "charging-only when locked, except before first unlock"

I tried something there as well, it was on on.
But I changed it to the default as you suggested and rebooted the device.

Now its working again properly:)
