Vanadium and Chromecasting

I use a Google Chromecast on a large display as a TV for streaming films.
What works:

Standalone: I choose a film i.e. from Netflix by the remote and it plays. No mobile involved.
Youtube app: When I use the youtube app on my phone there is the chromecast/stream icon. So I select the video on the mobile and watch it on the TV.
notification: When another device streams something on the chromecast I get notified on my mobile. I can pause the video on my mobile.

What does not work: There is no chromecast/stream icon in Vanadium. Thus I cannot stream i.e. a Youtube video without the youtube app. But I don't like the app for privacy reasons. Also there are websites providing videos that don't have an app. There is no way to stream such videos on Chromecast right now.

Question: Can you confirm the feature is not present in Vanadium?

Feature request: Considered it is not there, are there plans to make it work?

When I had a Chromecast several years ago, I distinctly remember it not allowing browsers to cast YouTube videos even when my phone was using stock android. Unless someone else has newer experience that says otherwise, I don't think this is a vanadium issue but more that Chromecast is intentionally blocking it because Google wants you to use the YouTube app.

As a workaround, can you sideload alternative YouTube apps onto the chromecast like Newpipe? When I had a FireSick I used an app called SmartTube that worked really well. Their github says it should be compatible with Google TV.

I am pretty sure this is a Vanadium issue. I remember a test where casting works out of Firefox. And as written the problem is not limited to youtube.
I have Newpipe on my mobile and it does not support casting. I thinkt it's just not implemented there.
That smarttube app is not what I am looking for since it is an app for the TV.

In GOS settings connection preferences cast is an option, or does this not work.

I have a Samsung TV but being Samsung it only connect to Samsung phones

The option is there in settings and it works. If someone else casts I can pause and resume.
It's a Vanadium issue believe me.

I have issues with casting as well, regardless wich app i use. I have a Samsung TV, my phone won't detect it.
Chromecast (old, but working with other devices) won't be detected. I do not want the youtube App so maybe this works, NewPipe does not. (I think the youtube app works like DLNA).
My fiancee has a Samsung Phone and the proprietary "Smart View" works. Screen mirroring! TV shows the exact phone screen content, without the status bar and aspect ratio can be set to match either of the devices!
I also own a chromebook but chrome only lets me stream "certain selected websites" aka youtube.
This will open the preinstalled youtube app on the tv and play the video (DLNA?). There is an option to stream the entire Tab content but it never works, on most websites it is greyed out.
I really want my fiance to get rid of her Galaxy S24 for the sake of getting a Graphe Pixel, but loosing the screen mirroring function would be a dealbreaker to her.
Any ideas welcome since i don't have the money for a new TV that does not run on Tizen.
