set min brightness level

Hi, I know the auto brightness sucks, but the major concern I have with it is the min brightness is too low. Is there anyway to make the min brightness level higher? I am open to any advice like using an app, adb/shell work, unlook, rooting...

When you are in low light conditions, manually increase the brightness. The phone will then automatically keeper higher brightness even in low light conditions.
