Hi all,
I just installed GrapheneOS on a brand new Pixel 7a. Everything has been installed with the Aurora Store.
Most apps work fine, but I have had several issues that seem to be related.
- Audible login is broken
When I try to click "Sign in", I get an error message saying "Error: Internal error. Please try again."
I called Audible, and they had no idea what the issue was.
I subscribe to Audible via Google Play, so I suspect this is something to do with the lack of Google Play Services? Could be wrong.
- Feeld login is broken
When I try to sign in to Feeld, it sends a confirmation link to my email account. When the process works, you tap the link, and then it takes you back to Feeld and logs you in.
In this case, I tap the link, and it just takes me back to the screen saying that they have sent me a confirmation email. Try again, the same. When I copy-paste the link into a browser, it takes me to Feeld's Google Store page.
Something to do with sandboxing?
- Hinge map is broken
This also seems to be a Google Play Services thing. Most aspects of the app work, but not the bit that allows you to change your location, as this uses (presumably) a modified version of Google Maps. The app also stops once in a while, with the error message mentioning Google Play Services.
I would really appreciate guidance to resolve all of these, especially the first. Audiobooks is one of the main things I use my phone for, and if I can't use them then I'm losing major functionality by using GrapheneOS. I am also paying for the former two apps, but currently cannot use them.
Ideally I would like to avoid installing Google Play as I hear doing so defeats much of the purpose of using GrapheneOS in the first place.
I'm not a phone expert or a software engineer or anything, so please ELI5 if possible.
Thank you in advance!
