Hey all, I'm trying out the beta of graphene os for the pixel 8a and thought it might be a good idea to start a general feedback thread, please delete if unwanted - I couldn't find any existing threads or tags to add to.
The Good: it works, If you have an 8a the web installer does everything you'd expect it to so have no fear. My banking app (starling) and games work fine. Even my razer kishi v1 works as expected. Android auto works.
The Bad: I've noticed display port over usb c (no developer mode options enabled, bootloader locked post install as advised) does NOT work. I even think it restarted itself as when I plugged in the first time the graphene os logo popped up for a little bit but not the "you have a non stock os" warning you annoyingly normally get on a boot so I'm not sure it's triggering a full reboot. NFC doesn't work but this is expected and documented.
I've noticed now and then I get what appear to be graphical artifacts when unlocking the screen at times or moving between apps - it's a weird posterization like effect that I think may be something to do with the display rather than graphene. It runs along the screen from the center in an expanding circle with the "unlock" animation so I think it's part of that.
Other than that...no real problems so far. No random crashes, nothing I have installed failed to run, everything I read up on works as documented. Really great work folks considering this phone came out 3 days ago. I will be donating.
Thanks to you all.
