Sound broken everywhere

Hi guys, since today the complete sound system makes "squiky" noises, when playing an audio (doesn't matter which one, it even affects phone calls) on the Pixel 6a. I did restart it as well and it has the latest updates on Android 13. What to do?

This issue doesn't seem to be anyhow connected to GrapheneOS.

Please make sure that you are running the official stable release of GrapheneOS, by using the attestation service for example.

Please make sure that there are no magnetic objects in the vicinity of your phone.

Please make sure that no physical damage was dealt to your phone.

If nothing of the above said things apply, please contact Google Support.

That looks like an issue with the speakers.
Try to connect via bluetooth and check if the problem persist.
If the issue won't be present, you can be sure that there's no problem with the "processing" and the issue is probably related to your phone's speakers. If the issue is present as well than it can be anywhere and you can start with reflashing the system, and if that won't fix the issue than probably sales return.

That is a good idea with the Bluetooth connection, I will reflash it as well and then will see again. Thank you a lot! If possible you can close this thread now.

Hey :-) The BT-connection-sound worked well, so I flashed the Pixel 6a with the stock Android 13 and the sound was nearly great! Flashed again to GrapheneOS with latest update and the sound turned squiky and horrible again. What can be the reason for this behaviour?

Perfect, if it is working fine on stock Android and even via bluetooth you can rule out hardware problem.
Did you check the sound (for instance in a call) before you installed any other app?
