Fingerprint Won't Work

I had issues with my fingerprint and a new screen cover so I deleted all my finger prints and tried to set them up again. Now I cannot set it up at all. Each time I try it allows me to begin the fingerprint scanning process, then fails stating "Can't complete fingerprint setup" Any ideas how I can fix this?

arkopat it might sound dumb, but have you tried restarting?

Also, it's possible the screen protector is the issue.

arkopat As other8026 said, it might be your screen protector not playing nice with the fingerprint reader. So if you haven't already done so, go to Settings > Display > enable Increase Touch Sensitivity.

Once it starts working again, a good life hack is to set up the same finger at least twice for redundancy (and therefore higher accuracy).

This part is interesting on the subject of using the same finger multiple times.

Due to initial problems with the fingerprint sensor, I deposited my right thumb twice. This was ultimately the problem that caused the collision. After deleting all fingerprints and only saving my right thumb once, my daughter could no longer unlock the device.
