shelter app setup failed

Good evening i am using pixel 7 and i have installed shelter app i downloaded the apk from the f-droid website i tried to setup the app but the app gives me message "Setup failed"

I had a similar if not identical issue, but I can't quite remember how I fixed it.

One thing that I did was to install the version from the custom F-droid repository for Shelter, as it offers more recent builds compared to the one on the main F-droid repo.

Vagabond8630 I installed f-droid and tried to add the repository but i got message "Error connecting to the repository."

uebdlahirns8658589014 That's strange. The version I have from the custom F-droid repository is 1.9.1. Is that the version that is failing on your device?

uebdlahirns8658589014 it works reliably. I dont know if shelter is better, i never managed to install it, setup failed
