There is also another difference in the range of apps available. Obtainium permits installing a huge quantity of apps (the vast majority of foss apps) whereas Accrescent is still at a very early stage and counts a dozen apps. I wish Accrescent could give access in a future to the same base as Obtainium but it is not the way it is designed.

To my knowledge this is not entirely the fault (if any) of Accrescent. Its on the developers to submit their apps according to the submission policy.

Dumdum Right ! It is indded not the fault of Accrescent. It is just a fact. As of now, Accrescent cannot be used as a proper app store. I hope that this state of fact will change since I would very much like to use it as my store of reference. For now, that role is endorsed by Obtainium.

I do believe its also only beta, maybe even alpha, and not really particularly open to submissions per se.

Obtainium is a completely different concept. Its not a store, more a rss reader type affair - it tracks your independent install and let you know when there are updates. Its so useful.
