Factory image download taking longer than a day.

I'm having a few problems installing Graphene on my Pixel 7a. I have got everything up to the downloading of the factory image. It does work but the download times are terrible, it's literally taking days. My internet connection is stable and makes a decent speed, I can download other things of equivalent size in 10-20 minutes. If there are any interruptions it gives up and posts an error message. I have left it on overnight and just got an error in the morning. I went to the list and downloaded it manually and even that took around 5 hours, but now I have that, all Windows is showing me is a folder marked 'compressed', which the web installer doesn't recognise.
It's worth mentioning that I'm in Cambodia, so perhaps this is an issue of local mirrors.
Is there anyone else who had extremely long downloads like this or does anyone know if there's a way to make things run more quickly. I have tried multiple different browsers and it didn't make any difference.
Does someone know if there's a way to change the name of the downloaded folder to that the web installer will let me use it?

Jack9471 If the web installer isn't working for a mysterious reason, you could try the command-line method. But I would suggest not skipping the signature verification step. If network issues result in a corrupted download, flashing that could permanently brick the device.

When I installed grapheneos on my 7a 6 weeks ago the webinstaller didn't work either for me, I then used the cli installer with no problems, this is on linux

In case there are limits imposed by your ISP or other weird ISP-related issues, you could try to download while connected behind a VPN. Cloudflare Warp should be OK to use: https://one.one.one.one/
Unless your ISP blocks VPN traffic.

This problem still persists, and it's a joke.
I have a 1Gbps connection and have been waiting for the "caiman-install-2025100300.zip" image to download for half an hour. Progress? About 7%.
Really? In 2025?

hamedi Have you tried using a VPN instead as suggested above? The download speed is super fast for me. (At least a few days ago)

hamedi It's not an issue with our servers but rather the route between them and your ISP. You would need to give details on your region and which ISP you use to even begin to try figuring out what's wrong. Our hosting provider could potentially resolve it by switching which transit provider they use for your ISP.

Might be an issue how data is routed between your location and GrapheneOS server, it might go over a very slow link at one point. Routing it between you and the VPN, and VPN and GrapheneOS server might avoid that slow link despite technically taking a longer path.

If the issue persists, you might ask your ISP to debug the issue, so they can fix the routing tables to avoid that slow link.
