Background: I have got a Suzuki Vitara (2024) and a Pixel 8 Pro with GrapheneOS. With this phone I suddenly switched to a Google-free life... currently I don't have GSF installed and I'm not going to install them if possible.
Goal: I'm aware there are several "workarounds" (like putting the phone on my car's dashboard), but I'd like to use the screen of my Vitara to show the route - i.e. Magic Earth.
I gave a try to Android Auto (installing for a while the Google Services and enabling the wired permission) but the car didn't recognize it, like reported in this thread.
Anyway, I'm not obsessed with Android Auto, another solution is fine too. For example, my car states it supports also MirrorLink. It's ok to show the image of the smartphone on the car's screen so I can see the navigation app (I don't have any SIM in my car, thus should not be a huge data breach).
Bottom line: is there an alternative implementation of Android Auto or MirrorLink that allows to show the navigation app on my car? Do you recommend to try again with AA? Not sure if it's worth it...
