From my experience:
Viewpoint0232 If I install Android Auto in a work profile, can I have it so that I have the maps app (installed in work profile too) on the car screen, but still able to use other apps (e.g. music app) on the phone screen? Or does the screen "lock" for when Android Auto is active?
The screen doesn't lock, so you can use any other app on the phone
Viewpoint0232 Will audio output still come through the car speakers (via USB) when the music app is in the main profile and Android Auto is in the work profile? If not, would playing audio through the speakers via bluetooth still work?
Audio will only come through USB, bluetooth will disconnect, you will need a copy of the music app on the work profile
Viewpoint0232 Will apps know which apps are installed in the work profile? Specifically, I'm concerned because some apps (like Signal or Whatsapp) will decided to use Play Services for notifications if they detect it at install time and use their own notification implementation otherwise. I don't want e.g. Whatsapp (in the main profile) to detect Play Services (in the work profile) and then attempt to route notifications via Play and I end up without notifications.
Apps on the main profile don't know about the work profile exept shelter or the equivalent app you are using
Viewpoint0232 Can I run my normal VPN app in the main profile and at the same time use a different VPN app (RethinkDNS) in the work profile, both configured as "always on" VPNs? I think the answer is yes.
Haven't tried it, but i'm 99% sure you can't
I tried Android Auto in a work profile but it didn't show up on my car screen. The phone started the Android Auto app but then car didn't do anything.
