[Check my guide to GrapheneOS out,[(https://www.reddit.com/r/GrapheneOS/comments/12wzowt/my_ride_through_grapheneos_what_works_what_doesnt/) skip to the section on backup and restore if you want to, the headings are large so it should be easy to do that! I encourage you to read it all though, its a guide on how to get your phone working almost exactly like a regular Pixel phone on the stock OS, complete with assistant, or Gemini AI as your assistant if that's what you want. In any country in the world even ones where its not officially released yet!
There are a few things you will miss... I'm about maximum functionality with maximum security and privacy as well. I tweak everything by cranking all three of those values up to 11, and I think anyone dedicated to doing their research and adapting, willing to make a few small sacrifices can have their cake and eat it too on GrapheneOS!
There's a section on Seedvault as well, in the Backup and Restore section. Its not that bad, just check its progress in the notification tray, and if it fails to get to 100% and doesn't say "backup complete" with a notification taking you to the Backup Status screen, run it manually again! Always check it out by restoring to an empty & new user profile before trying it out after a factory reset too. Keep restarting it, takes a few times sometimes!
Its a decent backup solution for those who are patient and with D2D backups works like a root backup solution. Some things like Vanadium may never back up. Other apps that use Keystore will never restore well. Those apps you should exclude and use one of the alternative apps I mention in my guide!
We can give you suggestions to help GrapheneOS work for you! Overall there is a lot to loose and not much to gain by going back to stock... Read the GrapheneOS features page and you'll get an idea!
