Calendar sharing between GOS and iphone

My son want to move to GrapheneOs like me

Him and his wife share a calendar (they were on Iphone)

If my son move to GOS, what could be the easiest / simplest way for them to continue sharing a calendar between an iphone and a GOS phone

Me, I use Proton Calendar but I'm alone....

If they're unwilling to switch calendar, and he wants to be able to edit and add entries on his phone, I'd say the simplest solution for him is to:

Log in to his Icloud account (on icloud.com) on a mobile browser in desktop mode (Aplle doesn't make the calendar available in mobile view).
Once he's in the calendar, go to the browser setting drop-down menu and choose Add to homescreen to save the page as a homescreen app.

It works, but it's wonky since it's not adapted to mobile. So the second thing he might want to do is sharing the calenddar and adding it to whatever calendar app he'll use. It will be easier to navigate but is, as far as I know, read only.

And if they are willing to change the calendar app, Proton Calendar or Tuta have both encrypted and private solutions. Side benefit is both your son and his wife don't share intimate appointments with Apple, Google or any other privacy invasive big tech company anymore. And in case of Proton you're right there to assist and participate.

On GOS I can use the Open Source app ICSx5 to synchronize my work calendar, but it's read only. Other than that I can imagine setting up DAVx5 with your own server would work for editable calendars. I don't have any experience here though. Last but not least your son and his wife could always move to Google Calendar which works on both iOS and GOS, but is just as bad as Apple privacy-wise...
