Hello, I have recently started using Graphene OS, and I turned on airplane mode, then turned it off again later. But when I turned my cell service and Wi-fi back on, only texting and calling was working, even when if am connected to Wi-Fi. I have tried turning cell or Wi-Fi off individually to see which can call and text but they both can. But every non-communication app no longer works with connecting to the internet (browser, apps store, maps, etc. Any idea of what to do? I tried that little reset internet button in the internet section of the settings.

FishToes There are many things that can be a factor here. First of all, have you tried restarting?

Anyway, I'd think you have to troubleshoot the following to see what the cause is:

    • Is VPN on?
    • If VPN is on, are you blocking connections without VPN?
    • Are you using private DNS?
    • Are you using an app to help block ads?
    • Is your phone getting an IP address from the wifi? If you're at home, you might be running out of IP addresses. Change your MAC address setting to "per-network" here Settings > Network & internet > Internet > Saved networks > *your wifi* > Privacy > change to Use per-network randomized MAC
    • Make sure mobile data is toggled on in the network settings.

other8026 Thanks so much, it was the "block connections without a VPN that got me, Ididn't even know that was a feature. Thanks for the help.

FishToes if this solved the problem, that means your VPN service is not reconnecting after you come out of airplane mode. This means your internet traffic is no longer being handled by the VPN and your IP address is exposed. To really solve the problem, you'd need to find out why your VPN isn't reconnecting. Just want to make sure you're aware of this.
