I toggled off location services compleatly. I can not remember to see 1 app with the permission of geolocation.
Then suddenly, when i did a reset on my mobile router (wifi only phone), i saw the first time ever a green geolocation notificayion icon in the top right corner. (It felt like it has something to do with the router reset. I had to reconnect a few times. But i did a router reset many times and saw nothing like this before).
I went immedietly to the notification history and found nothing.
Then i went to the permission manager and found three apps with the permission of geolocation:
-Com.Google.android.iwlan
-ims service
-shell
To be sure i looked it up twice a second ago and now i see way more apps with that permission, even it is toggled off generally.
In case of "comgoogleandroidiwlan" the permission is on "only in use" i can not toggle deny the permission.
"Companion device manager" and "shell" have the permission "all time".
Other apps with location permission Only in use:
-android service libary
-bluetooth
-cell brodcast service
-network manager
-phone services
-print spooler
-settings
For my understanding the only app has to has the permission regardless of what i say is "settings" because i have to stay to be able to change the settings.
I remember it have bin only 3 apps in total when i looked it up first but now i think it is because it was another (the owner) profile.
But that does not change that in both profiles i toggled off geolocation at all and i can not remember to see apps with that permission.
And i did NEVER see the notificatikn icon of location in use before.
I saw it two times with about 10 seconds in between. The icon itself blinked up for about 5 seconds per blink.
Can anybody tell me if the name of one of the apps seem odd (i think of the app with "google iwlan")?
And why so many apps still have that permission?
Is something wrong here?
Or is it just a lack of knowledge on my side?
I thaught on grapheneos i cantoggle off anything if i want to. Mabe that is not the case in a total way?
Or is it possible that my device as beeing compromised?
