The phone then produced its own qrcode and asked me to scan that qrcode on the other device...
It's been a while since I set up the scheduled remote attestation in the Auditor App, but this step is only required for local verification if I remember correctly.
Maybe you got something mixed up with remote and local attestation during setup.
Under "device integrity monitoring" on https://attestation.app/ you can go to
Attestation history (scroll all the way down) and "show detailed history"
to see whether the remote attestations were successful in the past.
If not, it is best to set up the scheduled remote verification again:
Delete your device from attestation.app
Device integrity monitoring> delete device
and from the Auditor App: Three dots
- disable remote verification
and in case you accidentally set up local verification:
- clear Auditee pairings
- clear Auditor pairings
Not sure if needed but you could also clean Auditors storage and cache too: Long press Auditor icon> App info> Storage & cache> clear storage and clear cache
To setup remote verification correctly then go through the exact steps you quoted for setting up scheduled remote verification again.
