If you want to really confirm it yourself, though, get another device with BLE and install some sort of BLE scanning app. Run it next to your phone (while it's powered on with Bluetooth enabled) just to see how it looks when it detects your phone. Then, turn your phone off, run the BLE scanning program again, and see if it can still detect your phone.
