First post - request adding letters to login keypad

First of all I would like to thank the developers of GrapheneOS. You have truly created something very special, so THANK YOU!

I would like to see letters on the login keypad. Rather than remembering numeric passcodes to all my different profiles I would like to remember words. This becomes much more easier if you would add the letters to the keypad. I saw some comments that they would like to use words rather than numbers logging in and I like that idea but my suggestion is a quickfix and less disruptive I believe.

fArGo Settings > Security > Screen lock

change PIN to Password and your issue is solved

fArGo fArGo, This is a nice idea and I've used that methodology before. A pin/password of grapheneos would be 4727436367. However, I have "Scramble PIN input layout" enabled. That would cause a migraine entering a pin/password LOL.

SgtSurehand has the solution. It will give you a full keyboard to enter your upper lower case numerical pin/password.

Hope that works for you. And the GOS devs wouldn't need to change anything.

Skyway how would they use it? Like a keypad on Nokia 3310? Wouldn't that make entering characters awfully impractical? I am surprised you take that option into consideration.

[deleted] remembering a pin code is one use case. Instead of remembering a random numerical string you could remember a word by the corresponding letters but still use a pincode to unlock the device.

Same use case as when a business has their name in the phone number for easy memory recall .
