Hi all,

I have been a GrapheneOS user for over a year now, but recently my car audio system stopped showing me the metadata about the songs being played via bluetooth. I am using Plex to stream songs from my server to my phone and playing them in my car using bluetooth, just to clarify. Up until a few weeks ago, I was able to see the name of the song, the artist, and the album while playing a song; however, this is now replaced with “unknown” for all fields. My car audio didn't recently undergo any updates or anything that is what made me think that a GrapheneOS update may have broken this function. My phone is a Pixel 5, which I know is not supported anymore. Please share your thoughts about how I can troubleshoot this if possible.

I don't know what is the root cause of your problem, but I know that Plex have gotten an increasing amount of bugs in the last years. So much so, that many users have migrated to different platforms than Plex.

I was able to fix this problem and wanted to report here just for the record and whoever may need it. The solution is choosing Bluetooth AVRCP version 1.4, instead of the default 1.5 under Developer Options. I believe the car audio Bluetooth version cannot interpret AVRCP version 1.5, creating the problem, but I don't know for sure.
