Google Maps location accuracy

Maybe its because I'm new to this, but my location accuracy and GPS seems to be slow to respond compared side by side with other people's phones when they use GPS. Different wireless carriers and phones, but my location takes my phone a lot longer to update the GPS coordinates to my maps app. What is the most optimal setting for apps to make sure that location is as accurate as possible when using google maps? I have Google Maps set to use location only in the app and play services and google services network are set to unrestricted.

You could start by checking a few settings.

Are Secure User Plane Location (SUPL) and Predicted Satellite Data Service (PSDS) deactivated?
Both can be found under Settings> Location and greatly reduce the time that GPS needs for initialization.

If I may summarize it casually: The default configuration is the more privacy-friendly one, the alternative to which you are offered the step-by-step instructions may be the one that responds faster.

If you have difficulty finding some items in the menu - the main settings are located in two places:
Settings> Apps> Sandboxed Google Play(e.g. Google Location Accuracy and Reroute location request to the OS).
and Settings> Locations (e.g. SUPL, PSDS and Location services (Wi-Fi + Bluetooth scanning)).

Well this article kind of gives two different approaches that users can take. I didn't really understand which approach was the best for the most accuracy...which is it?
