Thanks for the hard work!
One bug I have with the new battery information. The manufacture date says September 02, 2022 while the Date of fist use says January 1, 2020.
wojon was discussed with latest alpha testing. Upstream bug, dates should be switched.
Just posted it in another topic, one of my medical devices is unable to pair after this update via bluetooth, resulting in a "Connection failed" error. Were there any changes to the bluetooth implementation? It is quite critical tbh and I am desperate...
I noticed that I get a vibration when I unlock the phone via the finger print reader. I have turned off all vibrations an before it was completely "silent". Now when unlocking I feel a short vibration.
Has the space between the apps in the app grid increased with this update?
GrapheneOS See the linked release notes for a summary of the improvements over the previous release.
additional news, I reset my Wifi and Bluetooth settings on GOS, as have major issues with BT pairing. I can confirm that something got broken with Bluetooth, as only my Garmin watch is able to connect properly, other devices (BT speaker, Airpods, etc) cannot, tried multiple restarts, etc.
doffactory Is there a more detailed error message than that? Turn on the system crash reporting feature in Settings > Security.
There were major changes to Bluetooth in Android 14 QPR2 including important vulnerabilities being fixed. The latest GrapheneOS update was the Android 14 QPR2 update released in March. There's a new Android yearly, quarterly or monthly release each month. This month is a quarterly release, and the first one following the new model of quarterly releases being major releases comparable to yearly releases.
We didn't receive any reports of Bluetooth issues while testing the release for 2 days in the Alpha and Beta channel so it likely only applies to a small subset of devices. Perhaps it has a major impact specifically on older devices.
This new update has caused my Vendetta app for Discord to completely quit working. I've uninstalled and reinstalled numerous versions, tried the workarounds and no go. It was working just fine until the minute I reinstalled this update. I refuse to install the official Discord app on my device. Any idea what could be causing this?
sebastianha I have the opposite: I had it activated and after the update it is deactivated
GrapheneOS Link to System logs I was able to save: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/fx9u3kyi17atqjhhectiz/System-log-05734c6f2ab7.txt?rlkey=gv7cybrhlm0zmvl7ggbg18w0x&dl=0
Porkchop The app is incompatible with Android 14 QPR2. It's not a GrapheneOS issue. The app developer needs to fix it.
GrapheneOS Any way to revert to a previous GOS version then? I am dependent on this medical device...
GrapheneOS ok, just weird it was working this morning until I rebooted to install update. Thanks
wojon other8026 billinmtl Skyway It's not a bug in the OS implementation of displaying the information since it displays the correct dates on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. It's a bug in the battery firmware or the battery HAL on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7. If we reversed the dates, it would show incorrect dates when the issue isn't present. We could detect the dates being the wrong way around and reverse them but it's a very low priority to work around this. We're providing the information that's available from the hardware via the standard implementation.
doffactory As you stated in your other post, you "have an old medical device with some ancient bluetooth version (I think 2.0 or similar)." There were major changes to Bluetooth in Android 14 QPR2 including important vulnerabilities being fixed which, perhaps, had a major impact specifically on older devices. Reverting to a previous version of an OS in order to use "an old medical device" that uses "some ancient Bluetooth version" is unwise for many reasons.
