Why is the site hosted with Porkbun and forums self-hosted with Flarum?

Same as title really. Genuinely just curious as to why Porkbun VS other privacy-related options out there and then I know the initial reason for Flarum is that it's lightweight, etc., but why Flarum > other similar forum setups in regards to a privacy-related setup? Thanks!

Yes. As listed in detail¹ in the link from @akc3n the GrapheneOS Project has rented some servers and VPS from OVH and Frantec/Buy/VM. Hosting your own server in colocation is significantly more expensive. (If you don't get it sponsored, like me for example.)
¹It's rare to be so open and detailed.

For example $3.50/month KVM from Frantec or search for cheaper on LEB or LET¹
apt install nginx
Read w3schools HTML + CSS
or German SELFHTML
use $EDITOR
That's enough for a single static website. After that you can look at static site generators like hogo or jekyll.

¹In Germany, every DSL access provider also includes Webspace and FTP for free.
