Adaptive brightness turns itself off

I like adaptive brightness in some situations. I've found that it has been turning off automatically, which kind of defeats the purpose. Anyone have an idea why? I suspect it may have something to do with profile switching, but have not tested and wanted to hear y'all out regardless.

Makrus I have this problem as well. Auto brightness turns itself off multiple times/day. Been like this for months.

Same. Not only adaptive brightness, but the brightness slider -- I use one of my phones exclusively with the navigation app, and I had the profile with the app set always to 100% brightness (and then some with Adaptive).

Worked wonderfully well in all conditions.

Now pretty much always when I login to the profile, I have the brightness set to 50% or so. Once I noticed it to reset the brightness I set to max back to 50% when I put it on the wireless charger.

Maddening :(

Oh, I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem. My adaptive brightness gets disabled too randomly and I have no idea why. At first I thought it was because I was making too many adjustments, but that makes no sense.

I have a feeling this is an upstream bug. I haven't had it happen on GOS, but I remember when I was on stock it happened to me occasionally.
