other8026 Last time I tried, I couldn't access my user profile's data from ADB, so either I just don't know how, or it's not possible.
Doesn't sound promising :-(
other8026 I think they'd respond by saying it's up to the app developer to enable changing its configuration, whether by adding functionality to upload config files or by changing settings/configuration within the app.
By "file management", I meant file management. Not app config particularly, but classic file access and managament capabilities. The one who owns the phone shall be able to access the files on its phone. Not by opening up the tin can by rooting it, leaving it open for any flies, but with a secure way to achieve that.
A pre-installed, trusted file manager? Where one can at least copy/overwrite files prepared/edited somewhere else? (Where one can get rid of files by deleting, or moving them?) A full-featured sudo-like env would be great, but a file manager would be sufficent to begin with I think.
The most secure devices in the world still allow working with your own system in a secure manner. Secure doesn't mean "I do not want you to do what you want with that tin can you bought with your own money" ;-)
Why do people root their devices? Because they want to setup it up the way they want and to access their own stuff as they want, not to make it open for malware.
