when passing the 12 word stuff, we access the togglers page, and there is currently the "backup my apps" as 1st toggler and, later below, the toggler "app backup". "backup my apps" used to be called "backup my data", more comprehensive, according to YT video from 2021. Reversing to that name or even "backup my appdata" would be clearer.

This is not something we'd change on our end. We periodically merge Seedvault changes to keep it working, along with fixing security issues with it, but aren't focused on it beyond that.

In time, Seedvault will be replaced with a new backup solution in GrapheneOS.

Because devs will have more time to allocate to "other" features or because there are known flaws to it with gOS ? (I see the nextcloud option listed as "not recommended" in contrast to the DAVx5 option...)

Seevault is not actively developed by the GrapheneOS team.

The new backup app will be built in-house, and the GrapheneOS team will be able to design the app in a way that meets its goals and requirements. For the time being, Seedvault is provided as an option.
