Call notification no longer appears on the lockscreen

For some unknown reason, today I noticed that when the Pixel 8 Pro is locked, if someone calls me the phone rings, but nothing appears on the lockscreen, it remains a black screen. I have to first press the power button to see the display in order to respond to the incoming phone call. This makes answering the phone awkward. I don't know why this is happening, nor how to correct it, nor how to diagnose this.

(I looked at the notification settings for the default graphene phone app, strangely I notice that many are all greyed out, I can't do anything with them.)

You have checked the settings especially on the phone app, but have you checked the settings directly on “the first page” of settings menu, down below at “Notifications on Lock Screen”?

Sorry for asking this, for sure you have checked it, but maybe not?
Sometimes the simplest things are overlooked, so it's better to ask too much than too little … ;-)

Eagle_Owl No need to apologize. But yes, I had checked all notifications settings that I could think of, all seemed fine...... except:

For the phone app within notifications there is a setting called, "Allow full screen notifications". It was disabled. Now that I enabled it, the problem has gone away. So, I guess that was the problem. I think......

You see, I never lost my phone so no one else has access to it, there's no one here so only I have access to it, and I know I wasn't playing around with the notification settings, yet somehow in the past day or so it appears this setting changed. I know this sounds crazy, but I'm at a loss to explain what happened.

(I would mark this as solved if I could figure out how to do that.)
