Any elegant way to automate mobile data on/off?

Hi, I want to turn on/off mobile data and change connection type (2G/4G) with an automation tool. I understand it could be done with Tasker with the downside of having to connect the phone to a PC after every reboot to reenable adb which wouldn't be ideal for me, because i turn off my phone often.

Is there any better way?

This is the only thing I am really missing with Graphene OS coming from Lineage.

Had so much longer battery life before my switch to GOS when turning mobile data off and switching to 2g when screen is off. (I don't care about getting messages when I don't use the phone)

wonder75 sorry, there is no way to do this that I know of.

Keep in mind that we advise people not to use ADB on their personal phones. Keeping ADB enabled or giving any apps access to ADB is not a good idea.

I leave mobile data on, when I'm out of wifi range mobile data kicks in. I've checked data usage and the phone isn't using data when wifi is on.

When I turn on wifi at home or at work, mobile data stays on but wifi is the network connection.

other8026 I know that, but the attack surface seems to be very small for me. ADB access must be allowed by device on the phone. I would not be tricked into enabling it unwillingly. Which leaves an exploitable ADB which I don't fear. There are trustworthy open source apps that can automate running ADB-commands.

Under the line: I would take the risk ;)

I really appreciate the security focus of GOS, but this one really bugs me. I used to have 2 1/2 days of battery life. Now I have hardly one day.

There was an app I used to use to do this called LeanDroid. It however requires root access, and so likely doesn't work on Graphene OS. It would be nice if there was a way to do this though.
