Pixel 6a not acknowledged by USB

I am trying to get my Android Studio or Android File Transfer (anything, really) on my MacOS to acknowledge my pixel 6a. I have GrapheneOS on the phone, but it got corrupted / soft-bricked? and I have been wanting to try to get it sideloaded to save the data (I never got the data off before it got corrupted). Any thoughts? Android Studio sees it as "Pixel 6a" it but I can't select it.

I have Linux Mint on another laptop but that won't acknowledge it either. I appreciate anyone's help.

What do you mean soft bricked?

It's corrupt. It keeps looping. I can get it to recovery mode and select sideload adb but when I plug it in by USB, it is not acknowledged.

DeletedUser40 the cable acknowledged it. It's the original that came with the phone. I know, because whenever I restart the phone, Android File Transfer opens in response but says "could not connect to device - try reconnecting or restarting your device". But I have done all that and still same problem. I've rebooted my mac and I have been on the site for "full instructions for sideloading an ota update".

It's just unable to connect to the pixel 6a.

Following the official instructions, you would get

Platform tools for Mac, and download the

Full ota update (as of 2024 Jan 29) for Pixel 6a, then

Sideload it with adb sideload bluejay-ota_update-2024012600.zip

I don't think Android studio needs to be involved in this. It could help to close other apps that could be interfering by communicating with the Android device
