Google Play update

Hi,
I am new to grapheneos, I am using beta release, recently I keep on getting Google Play Store update when I see at the GmsCompact. When I clicked it brings me to Play Store.

I am running various Google application downloaded from Google Play Store. I want to ensure security on my device so what I shouldn't do?

Please don't ask me not to install applications from Google Play Store, because I need for my daily driver.

edan If I understand correctly, you're saying that you're being prompted to allow Google Play to update itself? If so, you can safely allow the update. That's the preferred method of keeping Google Play up to date. GmsCompat will make sure Google Play isn't updated to an unsupported version.

In general, if you don't want things to break, it's best to stick with the stable branch. I gather that most issues are caught while alpha testing, but sometimes issues aren't caught until a release makes it to the beta testers.

If you're curious, you can join one of the community chat rooms on Discord / Telegram / Matrix. You can skim through the testing room to see what kinds of issues they sometimes face.
