There are some nice Browser projects like
- Free Browser
- FOSS Browser
- Privacy Browser
Afaik all of them include some kind or adblock, as well as more features like better cookie deletion, selection of privacy levels etc.
All of them use the system webview, i.e. Vanadium. Does this mean they automatically isolate each tab in a different process? What features would be missing here, as how I understand it, Vanadium Webview does all the heavy lifting?
This is also relevent for future possibilities like Firefox/Brave "Lite" (using the webview), allowing to use their sync services and tools without needing their less secure engine. Request in the Brave Forum about this
What possibilities do these wrappers have? Can they alter the webview, disable features, change things? This would also be interesting because Brave will likely have their own Chromium engine to apply some hardening/privacy tweaks, which is a very valid choice on stock Android. It just doesn't apply to GrapheneOS, DivestOS or systems using Cromite Webview probably.
