Why disabling Playstore disables Play services?

I don't use Google Playstore. I only installed Google services to enable notifications and Google Maps. Yet when I disable Google Playstore, Signal shows notification about not accessing Google services and Google Maps no longer works (cant find location).

Im disabling Playstore as a precautionary measure against its "Play Protect" scanning my apps or applying Auto updates on them without me knowing.

Is there a way to disable this without disabling Google Services?

I noticed a similarity between GPlay Services and GServices Framework, which is understandable.
In my configuration, I keep Google Play w/o logging in, with no Google entry in Password and Accounts. Used GPServices for push notifications only and any app dependable of them.
I set the battery to Restricted and Background data off for the Google Play Store. But I haven't disabled it.
Signal/Moly notifications work as expected via FCM.

They are bundled together and not meant to be used seperately. Disable the playstore and everything annoying about it will be gone, even the link associations (which I found out while reporting a bug...)

Also you dont need Play stuff for Google Maps and Camera.

Btw you can use Googles TTS with the sandboxed play services, and also Google Play Games.
