How to reinstall Google play services after uninstalling it with adb

Hello,

I uninstalled gms after installing it about a year ago. I was interested in reinstalling it on my main profile but it doesn't appear in the app store anywhere. I have a Pixel Pro 7 on the latest version of Grapheneos. Not sure how to restore it.

thed0ctor Why would you use adb to uninstall it when it could have been done so through the Apps app?

For anyone else reading this:
This a great example of why we strongly advise our end users to avoid using adb to make changes. It takes up our time trying troubleshooting unsupported methods such as this.

thed0ctor It looks like you've uninstalled GmsCompat and/or GmsCompatConfig, which are parts of GrapheneOS.

I used it because at the time it wouldn't uninstall any other way. I tried via Apps and it didn't work. I'll be sure to post the issue here next time. Didn't know adb was discouraged.

I tried installing from the link you sent and it says "App not installed"

Do you happen to know the names of the three packages? Then I can try this method. I know gms is one but there are a couple graphene specific ones and I can't remember if the package path is different for the Google ones

android.content.pm.PackageManager$NameNotFoundException: Package com.google.android.gms doesn't exist

I'm just going to reinstall the os. If I have issues uninstalling then reinstalling google play from Apps I'll start a new thread (if this one is closed) or reply to this one. Thanks for the help thus far.

thed0ctor apps will fail to install if they’re installed on another profile. You must ensure it is fully uninstalled from every profile. This goes for any app that’s installed to areas besides main profile

A factory reset reverts everything you have changed and you end up with a bit for but identical OS to everyone on the same device and update. That is cryptographically confirmed via verified boot.

N3rdTek apps will fail to install if they’re installed on another profile.

That is not the case if it is the same or newer version of the app, rather than an older one and the app has the same signature certificate.

Apps from different sources, like Play Store, Github and F-Droid can have different signing certificates. But not always.

F-Droid has had the bad habit of leaving an older version of their app as the main download so if you try and install that after installing it in another profile it will fail.

N3rdTek I deleted the profile before trying the reinstall. I've reset my device now though. If I have issues uninstalling then reinstalling Google I'll repost here
