Hi all, apologies if this has been covered off in detail before - I did a search and have not found anything that meets my use case...
... which is essentially this: I want to synchronise my Calendar (and maybe contacts and tasks) in Thunderbird to my Pixel 6a without the use of a cloud. That is, via some sort of direct USB cable or perhaps Bluetooth sync. I am not concerned with not being able to access it from anywhere in the world, since I would do such a sync only when the devices are in close proximity to each other.
I am thinking that this community, of all, would understand the desire to keep my data off any cloud. You would all have experienced that "facepalm feeling" when people tell you to "just use Google Calendar" 🤦 Ooh, there's another one! ;-)
Background:
I have been using Proton Calendar, but the restriction to only being able to use the web interface and phone app is somewhat limiting, since it won't allow bridging the same way that Proton Mail does. Essentially, the TB user interface is of a par with Evolution, which I have been using, but that too has issues with responding to calendar invites.
Anyway, I am hoping someone, somewhere here in this impolitely paranoid community might have cooked up a solution. I've looked at EteSync, but would use it only as a later resort if no earlier one is possible.
