Pixel 7a flashing stuck at restarting device / waiting for devices

I followed the instructions for both the webUSB and the command-line installation methods, but neither work. The webUSB installer gets stuck at "Restarting device" at the flashing stage after the initial bootloader flash. The same occurs with the command-line installer after the initial installer: it gets stuck after the first restarting at "< waiting for devices >" ... fortunately I have just been able to restart my device a couple times to get back to stock, but I'm not sure how to proceed? This is with lynx-2024010400. I will try a different version shortly. Any other ideas?

If treequell 's advice doesn't work, please report which OS you are using, which browser, which cable, etc. The web installer is generally very reliable as long as its prerequisites are met.

Either your USB connection is dropping or you don't have enough storage space on your PC that you are using to flash GrapheneOS.

Make sure you have at least 32 GB free storage space on your PC, and use the USB-C to USB-C cable that came with your Pixel 7a device if possible.

Then return your phone to the bootloader interface and flash release again.

Using Arch with USB-C to USB-C cable (didn't come with the phone- I don't have that cable) and Chromium v120 although it doesn't appear to be a browser issue since the command-line option didn't work either.

I also had the same issue flashing from macOS with webUSB in Chromium 120.

I'm not sure what the issue was, but I tried flashing using command-line from macOS and it worked.

Which OS? Which browser? Is the web installer stuck on "restarting device"?

anshika Reboot it back to the bootloader interface, open your web browser again, make sure you only have 1 copy of the web installer open, run the flashing process again, wait until it finished and then lock the device.
