I am interested in Android Auto. But my understanding is that it needs Play Services to work, which I dont want/need otherwise and dont want to connect to Google in any way. So I was thinking I could install Auto and if it downloads Play Services as a dependency then I can simply disable the network permission from the 4 Google apps (Auto. Services, Framework and Store). Wired mode for Auto is enough.
But... Would the mere presence of the Play Services mean that apps like WhatsApp and Signal will switch their push notifications from their own implementation to FCM? Which obviously will fail without network access, leaving me without push notifications?
I'm not interested in a second user profile because e.g. I dont want my music to be copied and take up twice the storage (for normal use and Auto use in second profile).
