Call History App

Just installed GrapheneOS on a Pixel 8 last week, loving the feeling of not being tracked, enjoying using my device.

On my previous phone, a Samsung, I could see call history per contact, where for a single contact I could see when a previous call was, it's duration, and also text messages between them and me. The default app does not do this, nor does Simple Contacts or any other contacts and Dialer app that I found.

Is there any recommendations for an application, whether a Calling app or a Contacts app or anything else, that could serve this purpose?

Does not really fit the GOS concept of a privacy and security focused OS IMHO.

I'm looking for the same thing, but I'm looking for one and that will still take me to the default dialer of graphene so I can still record calls

I use this app for call duration (so i can bill my clients accordingly) I installed it using Aurora store. It reads the history and displays the duration per call. It does have some adds, but doesnt upload or analyse etc. You can even block network access, although it will slowdown startup time for the app considerably...

Yea this seems like a significant missing feature --- i'm also coming from Samsung for the privacy and security benefits, but there are a lot of these littel surprises.

Agree, this dialer apk is really poor and the history thing is a bit of an issue for me too. Is there any secure alternatives?

I believe we are collectively asking for the dialer app to display call history, per caller. Meaning, when you open the dialer app, and it is on Recents tab, selecting an entry will display three items --- Send a message , Block Number and Call Details

Clicking into Call Details will show the date/time/duration/ incoming or outgoing for that call.

Many other dialers will also show past entries for that number. So for example it could show that you've had five previous calls with that number, and one can see how long they were, incoming or outgoing etc. This information can be pretty valuable when considering whether to return the call, and the information is available on the phone in the call log, which (on my phone at least) appears to record every call. There are thousands of entries.

Last year I opened an issue on this, but alas ... i'm not competent to do the coding myself.
