should i turn off 2g/5g on roaming?

My 2nd sim is always on roaming. How to know if it's roaming using 2g/3g or 4g? if I turn off 2g for it can I still use it to make calls?(it does not have volte) How can I know if its 3g is evdo wcdma or tdscdma? Can I save more power by turning off unused network type using ##4636##？also what is prl meaning in the network type list?

Upstate1618 You can switch to 4G preferred if you want to save battery life by avoiding 5G.

You can try disabling 2G and making a phone call and seeing if it still works. That way you'll know whether phone calls are being routed via 2G or not when roaming.
